With all the holiday cookie exchange parties and get togethers this time of year you’re bound to need a cookie recipe that is both easy to make and impressive. While I love all the cutesy holiday wreaths and reindeer-shaped delicacies, my all-time favorite cookie is one with plenty of M&Ms. I found this recipe via IHeartNaptime and seriously, hands down the best M&M cookie I’ve ever made or eaten. To make them festive throw in some holiday red and green M&Ms and if you’re really feeling crazy, dust them with powdered sugar as they cool.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mini M&M’s, plus more for tops if desired
To make:
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, use a mixer to cream together the butter and sugars for 1 minute. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add the flour, baking soda and salt and stir mix just until combined. Fold in the M&M’s.
Using a cookie scoop, scoop the cookie dough onto the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Place extra M&M’s on the top of the cookies if desired.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the tops are barely golden brown. Save some for Santa or enjoy yourself!
Also, who else loves the holiday M&M commercial as much as I do? THEY DO EXIST!
Merry Christmas, everybody!
